Bill Waterman is the President of W.A. Waterman & Company, an Oklahoma City-based oil and gas consulting firm formed in 1980.  Bill is a United States Army veteran and a graduate of The University of Oklahoma.

Bill began his career in the internal audit department of Champlin Petroleum, which was followed by a position on the Oil & Gas Controller’s staff at Kerr-McGee Corporation.  In 1980, following a five-year career with two industry companies, Bill decided that many companies do not have sufficient staffing to address the assessment and oversight of their assets operated by others.  Bill created W.A. Waterman & Company to fill this need.

Bill’s experience and expertise include:

  • Internal Audit of Refinery Operations and Purchasing Functions
  • Assessment / Review of International Operations in Canada, UK, UAE
  • Development and conduct of Compliance Reviews on behalf of working interest owners:
    • Areas of Mutual Interests
    • Exploration Agreements
    • Model Form Operating Agreements
    • Fixed Asset Construction Projects
    • Pipeline Construction
  • Development and conduct of Lease Royalty Compliance Reviews for Royalty Owners, Municipalities, Bank Trust Departments
  • Development and conduct of Compliance Reviews on behalf of industry companies for the construction and operation of midstream facilities
  • Development and conduct of Compliance Reviews for NGL processing, fractionation, transportation, storage, and export
  • Development and conduct of Compliance Reviews of vendors on behalf of Operators and Service Companies
  • Field inventories and asset assessment

Bill’s experience and expertise also include testifying as both fact witness and expert witness in numerous state and federal jurisdictions and state agencies, such as the Oklahoma Corporation Commission and the Mississippi State Oil and Gas Board.  Bill has considerable experience in complex litigation and has provided litigation support in both civil actions and numerous class action matters.

With a focus on providing the highest quality of services, Bill has grown the firm from a sole practitioner to a cohesive group of five core personnel having a vast array of experiences both in and out of the industry joined by a cadre of other consultants that bring project-specific skill sets to address very complex issues.

Articles – Good topics for articles include anything related to your company – recent changes to operations, the latest company softball game – or the industry you’re in. General business trends (think national and even international) are great article fodder, too.

Mission statements – You can tell a lot about a company by its mission statement. Don’t have one? Now might be a good time to create one and post it here. A good mission statement tells you what drives a company to do what it does.

Company policies – Are there company policies that are particularly important to your business? Perhaps your unlimited paternity/maternity leave policy has endeared you to employees across the company. This is a good place to talk about that.

Executive profiles – A company is only as strong as its executive leadership. This is a good place to show off who’s occupying the corner offices. Write a nice bio about each executive that includes what they do, how long they’ve been at it, and what got them to where they are.
